Description#
Gerlachovský Štít is the highest summit of the Carpathians and the High Tatras, rising above the Velická and Batizovská valleys. It is the pre-eminent Slovak Tatra mountaineering objective.
The standard ascents are the Velická próba and Batizovská próba routes, normally undertaken from Sliezsky dom with a qualified mountain guide. The summit is not reached by a marked tourist trail.
