Pointe Young

Description#

Pointe Young is a minor summit on the frontier ridge of the Grandes Jorasses, above the Italian and French glacier basins. It is a technical point in the massif’s complex ridge system rather than an independent normal-route peak.

It is approached on the Hirondelles ridge or during Grandes Jorasses traverses, traditionally from Rifugio Boccalatte-Piolti or Bivacco Ettore Canzio. Those routes are long, serious mixed undertakings.
