Description#
Marmolada is the highest mountain of the Dolomites, with Punta Penia as its summit and a rapidly changing north-side glacier. Its south face is one of the great walls of the range.
The normal route approaches from the Passo Fedaia side and follows the upper glacier and west ridge, often using the fixed protection near the summit. The south face’s Via dell’Ideale is a renowned hard rock route.
