Description#

Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain and a near-symmetrical stratovolcano at the centre of the Fuji volcanic zone. Its summit circuit encloses a large crater and has major cultural as well as mountaineering significance.

The Yoshida, Subashiri, Gotemba and Fujinomiya routes are the established summer ascent trails. The Yoshida route is the most used; outside the climbing season, snow and wind turn the mountain into a very different proposition.
