Description#
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland and the United Kingdom, rising above Glen Nevis near Fort William. Its north face contains the country’s most important concentration of winter gullies and ridges.
The Mountain Track from Glen Nevis is the standard non-technical ascent. Tower Ridge, Observatory Gully and the North-East Buttress are classic mountaineering lines; the summit plateau holds the ruins of the observatory.
