Balmenhorn

Description#

Balmenhorn is a small Monte Rosa summit above the Lys Glacier, immediately associated with the Cristo delle Vette statue and bivouac. It is commonly collected with neighbouring Italian-side four-thousanders.

Rifugio Mantova or Rifugio Gnifetti provide the normal base. The straightforward glacier approach is often linked with Vincent Pyramid and Corno Nero.
