Description#
Pointe Whymper is a major summit on the long Grandes Jorasses ridge, between Pointe Walker and Pointe Croz. It shares the massif’s dramatic north-face setting above the Leschaux Glacier.
It is normally reached in a traverse of the Grandes Jorasses ridge from the Italian side, based at Rifugio Boccalatte-Piolti. The summit is also passed by long ridge links between the principal Jorasses tops.
