Description#

The Grand Pilier d’Angle is the great granite-and-ice pillar between Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey and Mont Blanc de Courmayeur. It is a key obstacle on the Italian Peuterey ridge.

Rifugio Monzino and Bivacco Eccles are the usual bases. The Peuterey integral crosses the pillar on its way toward Mont Blanc and is among the massif’s most serious ridge traverses.
