Finsteraarhorn

Description#

Finsteraarhorn is the highest summit of the Bernese Alps, rising above the great Aletsch and Fiescher glaciers. Its remote setting is part of its appeal.

The normal route is staged at the Finsteraarhorn Hut, crosses the upper glacier to the Hugisattel, and follows the south-west ridge. The classic north-east ridge is a longer alternative.
